He declares: “I left Islam because I studied Muhammad’s life; I accepted the Gospel because I studied Jesus’ life”

(NOTE: We serialize these Okoro’s 36 reasons so that we could make a sound judgment on which teaching is superior: Islam or Christianity. Mr. Okoro seems to come from an African country and has a good knowledge of and exposure to Islam.)

Reasons of and comparisons made by Okoro:

“13. MOhammad declared a holy war (Jihad) against infidels; Christ achieved a holy victory on Calvary’s cross (Col. 2:14–15).

14. MOhammad constrained people by conquest; Christ constrained people by love (2Cor. 5:14); Modern terrorists derive their inspiration from Mohammad and carry out their despicable atrocities in the name of his god; Christians derive their inspiration from the One who said, ‘Blessed are the peacemakers”(Matt. 5:9). Modern-day disciples of Mohammad respond to the terrorist attacks by cheering in the streets; modern-day disciples of Christ are deeply grieved at past atrocities carried out by those who were ‘Christians’ in name only (the Crusades, the Spanish Inquisition, etc.).

15. Many Moslems are peaceful and peace-loving because they do not strictly follow the teachings of their founder; many Christians are peaceful and peace-loving because they do strictly follow the teachings of their Founder (Romans 12:17–21).”

ET’s comment: What is Jihad? We have a quote from the Qur’an, Surah 9:24 and its footnote:

“Say: if your fathers, your sons, your brothers, your wives, your kindred; the wealth that you have gained, the commerce in which you fear a decline, and the dwellings in which you delight. . . . are dearer to you than Allah and His Messenger, and striving hard and fighting in His cause, then wait until Allah brings about His Decision (torment). And Allah guides not the people you are Al-Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah.”

Footnote: “1. (v. 9:24): Al-Jihad (Islamic holy war) in Allah’s cause (with full force of number and weaponry) is given the utmost importance in Islam, and it is one of its pillars (on which it stands). By Jihad, Islam is established, Allah’s Word is made superior, (His Word being La ilaha ill-Allah which means none has the right to be worshipped but Allah), and His Religion (Islam) is propagated. By abandoning Jihad (may Allah protect us from that) Islam is destroyed and the Muslims fall into an inferior position; their honour is lost, their lands are stolen, their rule and authority vanish, Jihad is an obligatory duty in Islam on every Muslim, and he who tries to escape from this duty, or does not in his inner-most heart wish to fulfill this duty, dies with one of the qualities of a hypocrite.” (pages 286–287 of my large print Qur’an). # — ET (More to follow.)
